A long weekend to read, breathe, and belong!

Novel Women's August Reading Retreat is an all-inclusive gathering for women who love books and need a real break on a private island on a beautiful Maine lake, in cozy off-grid cabins with no electricity and no distractions. Find your bliss at our Attean Lake Lodge retreat this summer!

Reconnect and reflect in nature with a lovely group of like-minded ladies. Your weekend will start with a quick boat ride to the island where we will be retreating. Each attendee will have their own room in a shared cabin. Cabins do not have electricity but are equipped with fireplaces, modern bathrooms (with hot water of course) and all the necessary creature comforts plus the main lodge has electricity and wifi creating a perfect balance of being off the grid but not too far! If you would like your own cabin please email novelwomenme@gmail.com with your request.

Attendees will vote on a common read that will be shipped 2 months ahead of the retreat. Activities will include a healing tea ritual, group crafting, book discussions and games with prizes. The long weekend includes group activities as well as free time to enjoy the island and the available watercraft to explore the lake.

All food, lodging, retreat book, activities, gift bags and tips are included.

All sales final and nonrefundable. You can transfer your spot to someone else prior to the receipt of the retreat book.

Arrive after noon on Friday August 13th and check out around 10am on Monday August 16th.

Q&A

Where do I park? There is a lot at the landing at the end of Attean Road, use 163 Attean Rd, Jackman, ME in your GPS. There will be a radio to call for boat pick up for your island transfer. I’ll also send a phone number to contact in case you need help.

Can you accommodate food restrictions and allergies? Yes, when you check out you will receive a form inquiring about your dietary requirements.

What is included? Everything is included except for alcohol, specialty lattes and specialty drinks such as kombucha and nonalcoholic beer. You can bring your own alcohol for use in your room and there are drinks available for purchase at the lodge.
